Year One Promise
Beginning in Fall 2018, first-year, full-time students can attend CSM for free and
receive up to $750 towards the cost of textbooks. The Year One Promise program will
pay for the fall, spring and summer terms of a student's first year.
Year One Promise helps ease your transition from high school to college by providing students with the following services and support:
- Free tuition for your first-year: Enroll in at least 12 units or more and get your tuition and fees covered.
- Money for Textbooks: Up to $750/year covered for textbooks from the CSM Bookstore.
- Academic & Career Support: From academic counseling to career fairs to Year One Promise events, you will be joining a strong first-year community supported by Year One Promise faculty & staff.
- A Summer Experience: Get familiar with college expectations, college life, and the CSM campus by participating in our 1-week summer experiences: Pathway to College and/or Math Jam.
Students should complete the application as soon as possible. Priority deadline for consideration for the Year One Promise is May 1, 2018. To qualify, students must have completed their high school degree, GED/HSE, or Adult Education in the U.S. after October 1, 2017. The Year One Promise Scholarship is not need based - anyone can apply. Priority will be given to recent, local high school and adult school graduates.
