Unless otherwise indicated, a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite courses.
Course Description
This class will focus on a range of novels from this genre’s long history. We will analyze novels as aesthetic, but also material productions, as representations of individual selves grappling with the world, as windows into specific historical and cultural moments, and, most importantly, as both agents and products of social change.
