Minimum Grade for Prerequisites

Unless otherwise indicated, a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite courses.

Course Description

Introduction to the art and crafts of ceramics. During this course the student will learn elementary hand-building clay construction. They will be introduced to throwing on the potter's wheel. Methods of ornamentation, glazing, firing will be demonstrated and utilized. A number of different firing techniques may be used, including low fire, stoneware, high fire, salt, and raku. Extra supplies may be required.
