DGME 103 - Fundamentals of Two-Dimensional Design and ART 301 - Two-Dimensional Design are equivalent courses and either can be used to satisfy degrees in both programs. (Required for AA: General Studio Art and AA-T: Studio Art; Selective for AA: Art History and AA-T: Art History)

Minimum Grade for Prerequisites

Unless otherwise indicated, a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite courses.

Course Description

This course emphasizes critical examination of basic principles and elements of design. Students acquire fundamental design and compositional skills, while exploring basic theoretical and practical concepts of 2-D design. Students apply visual solution strategies to solve design problems in a series of projects.
