Unless otherwise indicated, a grade of C or higher is required for all prerequisite courses.
This course emphasizes the critical examination of basic principles and elements of design. Students acquire fundamental design and compositional skills while exploring basic theoretical and practical concepts of 2-D design. Students apply visual solution strategies and implement all steps of the design process as they solve various problems. In addition, students examine, compare, and analyze historical and contemporary examples of two-dimensional art and design within a global context.
